Many Rodney T. Pelt, Sr. is the Founder and CEO of Mind Changers Inc., a not for profit organization in Tuscaloosa, AL. Mind Changers focuses on high level mentoring and community outreach. Rodney also is a decorated combat veteran, serving 16 years in the US ARMY and a tour in IRAQ. After retiring and returning home, Rodney saw the need for effective mentoring in the community where he grew up. He partnered with other organizations and started mentoring at one of the local schools. This resulted in the birth of Mind Changers.
Under Rodney’s direction, Mind Changers currently has mentoring initiatives in 10 of the local schools, an after school mentoring program at the Benjamin Barnes YMCA, and an after-school enrichment program held weekly at the McDonald Hughes Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
